Stuart Price Adds Duffy to his Resumé

9 12 2010

After laying low on the radar for some time, our favorite electronic-musician/DJ/producer-to-the-stars has just made an impressive addition to his CV– Stuart Price has been working with Welsh singer Duffy!

After a wildly successful debut album, Duffy snagged Albert Hammond (father of the Strokes’ guitarist Albert Hammond Jr!) to produce her sophomore album  Endlessly and hired the Roots’ rhythm section to play on it. During the final days of studio time, Duffy enlisted Stuart’s help in re-mixing/re-mastering 4 songs from the set. Clearly, she knows a thing or two!

The single “Well, Well, Well” is co-produced by Stuart and it features The Roots hip-hop style on it, resulting on an interesting rock-funky-dance combination. Give it a listen and support Stuart’s work! And Duffy too!

The day Madonna returned to the dance floor

3 11 2010

November has always been a very nostalgic month for me but this very day brings even more nostalgia… because on November 3rd 2005, Madonna aka the Queen of Pop, returned to her music roots and made the whole world talking about her performance at the 2005 MTV EMAs in Lisbon!

Madonna and her dancers pop out of a disco ball at the MTV EMAs!

Not only Madonna stunned critics, but also her fans with her FANTASTIC figure & shape by strutting a purple leotard while giving to the world the very first taste of her album “Confessions on a Dance Floor”.

Stuart Price, aka Thin White Duke produced “Hung Up” which was based on Abba’s “Gimme Gimme” and became an instant hit!

Brandon Flowers Live – Special guest Stuart Price

21 10 2010

Brandon Flowers, frontman from The Killers, has given a series of live concerts to promote his debut solo album ‘Flamingo‘, which was produced by Brendan O’ Brien, Daniel Lanois and ASP favorite Stuart Price, whose songs from the album comprised almost the entire setlist, including the new single “Only the Young“.

Yesterday Brandon played at Brixton Academy in London, playing both Killers’ songs and songs from his own album . Things got crazy when he introduced Jacques Lu Cont, talking about how jealous he was about the remix Stuart did for “Mr. Brightside” and how he had actually improved the song. Together they played “Human“, “Only the Young“, and Stuart‘s signature remix for “Mr. Brightside”. Check out the video where he introduces Stuart Price and the two perform “Human.” The other songs are on youtube and are quite worth taking a look at.
